77 Sunset Strip was an American television private detective drama series created by Roy Huggins and starring Efrem Zimbalist Jr., Roger Smith, Richard Long (from to ) and Edd Byrnes (billed as Edward Byrnes).

Initial setup and characters
Private detective and former World War II Office of Strategic Servicessecret agent and foreign languages professor Stuart ("Stu") Bailey (Zimbalist) and former government agent and nonpracticing attorney Jeff Spencer (Smith) form a duo who work from stylish offices at 77 Sunset Boulevard in Suites and Tab Hunter claimed he was
