Biography of Harold Holt
Early Years and EducationHarold Holt was born in Stanmore, Sydney, the eldest of Thomas and Olive Holt's children.
He spent his early years in Sydney and Adelaide. In 1921, his father enrolled him and his younger brother Clifford Thomas Holt in a college in Melbourne. It was during this time that Holt developed an interest in theater, collaborating with the renowned artist Hugh D.

Political Career
Holt became involved in politics in the early 1930s and joined the United Australia Party (UAP) in 1933. On August 17, 1935, after several unsuccessful attempts, Holt became one of the youngest members of the Australian Parliament in history.
